Newey is set to step down as chief technical officer in early 2025 to focus on the RB17 hypercar project. The team has faced challenges at the start of the 2024 season, including reported internal power struggles between different factions within the company. Jos Verstappen has previously criticized team principal Christian Horner amid internal disturbances. There are now speculations about Max Verstappen’s future with the team as familial advisor Helmut Marko has also shown worries about the team’s stability. Verstappen Sr. underlined the importance of retaining key personnel for Red Bull’s future success and internal harmony.
